FIRE!!!!!

So, I'm sitting in my room today, folding laundry when all of a sudden I look out the window to see a massive fire burning on the mountain behind us. All of a sudden the phone starts ringing off the hook....friends making sure that we are ok. There was a very scary period (as I watched just how fast the fire could envelope a full grown tree and take it down) where I thought "alright, what do I pack up and put in my car since my house very well may burn down this afternoon." Fortunately the wind is working in our favor and blowing to the north, out of the canyon. And, as for now, we don't seem to be in any immediate danger. The news is saying that the fire is 0% contained and there have now been 20 house evacuations and 100 acres burned. But, again, where we are seems to be JUST out of the danger zone. With that said...I still don't think I'll go to sleep tonight. Thanks for all the calls and for checking on us to make sure that we are ok.

Summer comes to a close

Just more great summer memories!! We can't possibly be closing in on fall yet.

Summer comes to a close

We have had the greatest summer. It's gone by so FAST!! Since we are on a year-round school schedule here we only get 6 weeks of summer and we really pack it in. It started with 4th of July weekend and ended with a great week with my sister, her 3 kids and my mom coming for a visit from Texas. In between we had an 11 day RV trip to Oregon, swim lessons, Fathers and sons campout, sleepovers, more swimming and a visit from Gregg's family. As great as it was for them to be here, they unfortunetly came for the funeral of Gregg's sweet grandpa. We were grateful that they could all make it though. So as I frantically try to get our house and kids ready to get back on a schedule, I'd first like to remember all the wonderful things about summer. We will miss the swimming, popsicles, bike riding, scooters, hikes, vacations, visitors, sleeping in, slip and sliding, friends playing all day, sunshine, the sound of crickets at night, catching lizards, barbeques and just the great LAZY DAYS OF SUMMER!!!

Summer Fun

Family is in town and we are having the greatest time! My kids are in heaven when they have their cousins close by. We have been to Snowbird, Temple Square and BYU....so far.....

Oregon Coast Trip

Gregg and I took an 11 day RV trip through the Oregon coast. We had a GREAT time. There was a lot of dirt and bicycle riding and running in the Ocean and catching frogs and fun! My kids are more impressed with sleeping in an RV than any other trip we could take them on. We had so much fun but were happy to finally get back home and sleep in our own beds and do a few loads of wash. Here's to Oregon!
